KA2 and N2S join forces to support the circular economy!

We are delighted to announce that along with our sustainable biotech partner N2S, we have been shortlisted for the FStech Partnership or Collaboration of the Year award.

This prestigious event returns for the 23rd year to celebrate excellence and innovation within the UK and EMEA financial services. It has become one of the biggest nights for the top players in the FinTech industry and will take place on the 16th of March 2023 at the London Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square.

The FCA, along with many other regulators, are looking to ensure greater focus and transparency concerning environmental reporting on Scope 3 emissions. These emissions account for the vast majority of the financial sector’s carbon footprint.

FS organisations require qualified data and insights to support their ongoing carbon reduction initiatives through sustainable purchasing, consumption, and recycling of IT equipment – from mobile devices, laptops and PCs to servers, networks, cabling, and PBXs.

In response to these challenges, KA2 with N2S have collaborated to develop a data-driven solution that enables organisations to measure, model and report their IT carbon footprint at the asset level and support their journey to carbon net zero on a real-time basis. The App gives a clear view of the current carbon footprint, and future carbon liabilities and set carbon targets. The dynamic data helps organisations set their carbon goals accurately and drives decisions that support their IT hardware procurement, retention and disposal strategy.

In the true spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, we have demonstrated how bringing both internal and external thought leadership and domain expertise together has enabled the development of a unique solution to manage the reduction of carbon emissions in the financial services sector.

Working in partnership, we will continue to add additional functionality, dashboards, and reporting capabilities to provide FS clients with the visibility they need to decarbonise their IT estate, operations, and supply chain. From initial procurement decisions to asset retention and the best sustainable outcomes for disposal, KA2 and N2S will continue to develop the circular environmental solution. This is particularly important when measuring and managing the return journey for redundant IT.
